Well, it’s been a long time coming – nearly 3-1/2 years in fact, but Welcome to Suburbia has now been released and is available to download from iTunes, Play.com etc. After starting the project around the end of 2005, Welcome to Suburbia has been released on Force 8 Records and features the songs of Bukechi, with guest artists Si Hayden and Anatasha. Paul “the Ox” Hogg features on bass in the only non-Bukechi song – Anatasha’s U Got Me. Paul has also carried out all aspects of sound engineering for all tracks. Band of the Month
To mark the release of the album, BBC Coventry & Warwickshire are making Bukechi “Band of the Month” for July and Executive Producer, Hannah Tobin, has watched the making of Welcome to Suburbia mature and progress on stage, in Bukechi performances over the last three years.
“I’ve seen Bukechi’s music develop and seen the love and time that has gone into producing their debut album, Welcome to Suburbia. It’s Sammi and Skidders’ baby!”, said Hannah.
Martin Winch, presenter of Introducing, will interview Bukechi for the shows on 9th & 11th July at the BBC in Coventry. You can listen on either 94.8FM | 103.7FM | DAB or online at www.bbc.co.uk/coventry (including Listen Again up to 15th July).
